Voices in the Vessel Hoodie
One of the winners of our Mesmer Mesmer x Art Center clothing design competition, Voices in the Vessel celebrates the human history and stories within handmade objects.
MEET THE ARTIST:
My name is Jay Lopez, and I’m currently a graphic design student at ArtCenter College of Design. As a transdisciplinary artist, I also work as a ceramicist, drawing on my design background to build cohesive visual systems and graphic applications within my ceramic practice. My ceramic start-up, ARTH CERAMICS, explores pre-colonial Mesoamerican pottery methods and material traditions. In previous collections, I’ve introduced large stoneware bowls inspired by the form and presence of Mesoamerican ceremonial vessels.
